Scarpia 06 Feb 2008 at 12:16pm (Report this message) If you had the voice for it, what operatic role would you love to sing more than any other? |

smitty 27 Jun 2008 at 2:44pm (Report this message) my choice would be BORIS, the clock scene and death scene take a fine voice and real acting skills. i was lucky enough to see the bolshoi production in 1976 at the kennedy center and it was stunning! it helped that i had first row center seats. john |

aaronbear 29 Dec 2008 at 8:31am (Report this message) That is a good questions that gets thrown around alot in my program. I have a couple of dream roles, of the ones I am familiar with. I really enjoy singing Papageno, as he has many oppourtunities for character work, as I have a young voice. As I mature vocally, I would like to sing any of the Dr. Bartolos from Figaro and the Barbers. Balstrode or Swallow from Grimes would also be wonderful as the opera is a personal favourite. Also, any of the Falstaffs would be fun. |

cassio 27 Aug 2011 at 10:58pm (Report this message) I cannot resist this question. My answer would be Orpheus ( Orphée ) as a tenor in Gluck's French version of his Orpheus and Eurydice. The role is beautifully sung by Leopold Simoneau in a 1956 recording conducted by Hans Rosbaud. |
